Smart Consumer Guides
A private tool for one person's own channel
Smart Consumer Guides is a desktop automation tool that its owner uses to research, write, produce and upload long-form video content to their own YouTube channel. It runs locally on the owner's own computer. It is not a public service, it is not offered to anyone else, there are no user accounts, and nobody other than the owner can sign into it or use it.
What it does
The tool handles a single channel's production pipeline end to end: it gathers and verifies source material, drafts a script from the verified facts, generates narration and illustrative imagery, renders a finished video, and then — after the owner has reviewed and approved it — uploads that video to the owner's YouTube channel as a private video, with its title, description and custom thumbnail.
How it uses YouTube
The tool connects to one YouTube channel: the owner's own. The owner authorizes it through Google's standard OAuth consent screen, and the tool uses the official YouTube Data API v3 to do three things and nothing else:
- Confirm which channel it is connected to, so a video cannot be uploaded to the wrong one.
- Upload a video file to that channel, along with its title, description and thumbnail.
- Read back the status of a video it uploaded — whether YouTube has finished processing it, and whether it is still private.
Every upload is created as private. The tool has no code path that makes a video public on its own; changing a video's visibility is a separate action the owner takes deliberately, by hand. Full detail of what is accessed and stored is in the Privacy Policy, and the terms that govern using the tool are in the Terms of Service.
What it does not do
It does not read or manage anyone else's channel. It does not read comments, subscribers, private messages, watch history, or any viewer's personal data. It does not offer YouTube access to anybody else, and it has no users other than the owner. It does not sell, rent or share Google user data with anyone.
A separate product from Didi
Smart Consumer Guides is built and operated by the same person behind Didi, the household memory app, and it is hosted on this domain for that reason — but it is a distinct product with its own data, its own Google authorization, and its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It is not part of the Didi app, it holds no Didi data, and authorizing it has no effect on any Didi account. If you are looking for Didi's own policies, see usedidi.com/privacy and usedidi.com/terms.
